I seem to always procrastinate before doing a speed workout. The distance run is short but much more intense and leaves me feeling as tired as if I had run twice as far. Tonight's assignment was to run up a long hill 3 or 4 times at about 10K pace. I still haven't run a 10K so I just run it as fast as I can while not causing undue pain. For me, that's about 2:25 per repeat. Once I'm going I do enjoy the feeling of skimming over the surface, hearing the fast and light footfalls, feeling my lungs pumping.
