It seems to work ok. I'm using a wand type blender, a 1 liter beaker style mixing cup and a large ice bucket with rock salt in it. Then put the resulting whipped mix into the freezer. I kind of accidently hit on this making whipped cream while cleaning out the bucket for the automatic ice maker.
